What Is Affordable Housing?

Affordable housing is a term used to describe housing that is financially within reach for individuals and families with low to moderate incomes. The goal is to provide homes where households pay no more than 30% of their income on housing costs, including rent and utilities. Affordable housing makes it possible for people to have a stable place to live while also having sufficient funds for other basic needs like food, transportation, and healthcare.

At The Fern, we offer apartments at various Area Median Income (AMI) levels, including 30%, 50%, and 60% AMI, to provide a range of options that can suit diverse financial situations.
